The
Rae Gala is held each June to celebrate Sir Norman Rae’s gift of
Northcliffe to the people of Shipley as an open space and place of
recreation forever. Last year’s gala was held on Sunday 18th June 2007
and despite a series of downpours we still managed to draw a large
crowd.
The Entertainment
was extremely enjoyable and included the ever popular ‘Bingley
Belles Belly Dancers’,
‘Shipley Starlights Twirlers and Pom Pom troupe’ who are aged between 4
and 12, Hall Royd Band, ‘Grand Coconut Shy’, jam jar tombola, Bradford
Model Engineering Society, Northcliffe Project plant stall, Howard Toll
with Ollie the Owl, Rivendell Equine Defence and Hedgehog Rescue.
Our next gala will take place on
Sunday 8th June 2008 at 2.00 pm
Everyone welcome and free admission.
